Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do offer tear outs?

Yes, for an additional fee we will tear out your current countertops. We do not, however, do any plumbing work.

What should I bring when I come in to browse stone options?

We recommend you bring as much information as you can! Dimensions of your countertop space are most important but we also encourage you to bring design drawings, paint samples, cabinet color and/or flooring options.

What is your lead time?

We template, fabricate and install within 3 weeks of deposit.

Do you have remnants? Are they cheaper?

We do carry a selection of remnants, but pricing is based on the type of material. Believe it or not, in some cases a remnant may not be a cheaper option.

Check out our care and cleaning guide here.

Can I buy my sink and faucet here?

Do you repair countertops?

Granite Works does not repair countertops but please give us a call at 440-892-8761 and we can recommend who to call based on your needs.

Do my old countertops need to be removed in order to template?

Yes, you will need to have your old countertops removed prior to our team coming out to template. If you would like us to take them out, we can for an additional charge.

How do I prepare for installation?

The installation process is very labor-intensive and it’s important that your home environment is safe for our crew members and those in your home. Your driveway should be accessible for our install team with easy entry to your door. All walkways should be cleared, including exterior paths, interior hallways, doorways, staircases, etc. Children and pets must be free of the entryway and project area. Please note that our installers are required to wear shoes at all times of installation for safety. Shoe coverings cannot be worn because traction is necessary. Sink cabinets must be completely cleared out. Our team will clean up after themselves once the installation is complete.

How long does installation take?

There are many variables when it comes to an installation and each job is truly unique. Once your installers are onsite, they will be able to give you a better estimate of how long it will take them to complete your install.
